Project “Childhood” - the old games of our ancestors

A very important part of the childhood are the different games children play together and alone. These games are different in different years. If you know some games of ancient times you get much knowledge about these times. You can get into touch with older peoples through talking about their childhood. So this is a very lifely possibility of teaching history.

These are our structures of our project. To get a variability of results each teacher had only few points to do:

• A description of the rules (with photos, film etc.)
• A description of an old game
• No limit of how far we go back in time
• Every country shall be able to put the game into action (play the game)
• Recording by photos the game being played by students are wished

All the hand-made products shall be made available on CD

Here is a choice of the results of the different countries. You can find some old games and their rules and you can watch pupils playing the games.
